Douglas M. Erickson, CCIM, has in excess of forty-seven years of commercial and industrial real estate experience and is licensed as a real estate broker in the States of Maine and Florida and as an Auctioneer in the State of Maine. In 1994, Doug became a member of the national chapter of the “Certified Investment Real Estate Institute” (CIREI) and New England Chapter of CIREI.
In 1997, Doug received the “Certified Commercial Investment Member” (CCIM) designation from CIREI, an affiliation of the National Association of Realtors. In 1993, several statewide commercial real estate brokers formed the “Maine Commercial Association of Realtors” (MCAR). In 1994, Douglas Erickson became one of its first members.
MCAR is an organization with statewide members devoted to assisting each other in the marketing of commercial and industrial properties, providing educational programs on commercial and industrial properties, tax laws, state and federal regulations and latest trends in the market. Additionally, MCAR members, from time to time, meet with many of the heads of businesses to determine their present and future needs.
With this information, members of MCAR are better able to serve their clients. In 1997, Doug was the recipient of the Realtor of the Year Award for his contributions to the local, state and national Realtor organizations and in 2015 he received the coveted designation of Realtor Emeritus. In his capacity as a commercial real estate broker Doug was been responsible for bringing Home Depot, Super Walmart, Back Cove Yachts, McDonald’s Restaurant, Applebee’s Restaurant, Hampton Inn and many other national companies into the Midcoast Maine area.
On other occasions he has been retained by the State of Maine and several towns and cities in the area to provide development concepts and ideas for the various communities.
